Midnight Suns: Why XCom developers chose to explore the mystical side of Marvel
The Marvel Universe is a fictional cosmos where the stories in a lot of American comic book titles and also other media released by Marvel Comic books occur. Super-teams such as the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and lots of Marvel superheroes stay in this cosmos, consisting of characters such as Spider-Man, Iron Guy, Thor, the Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Captain America, Wolverine, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Adventurer, Captain Marvel as well as Deadpool, among many others. It additionally consists of popular supervillains such as Physician Ruin, Magneto, Ultron, Thanos, Loki, Environment-friendly Spirit, Kang the Conqueror, Authority, Medical Professional Octopus and also Poison. The Marvel Universe is better depicted as existing within a multiverse containing countless separate worlds, every one of which are the developments of Marvel Comics as well as all of which are, in a sense, Marvel cosmos. In this context, Marvel Universe is taken to describe the mainstream Marvel connection, which is referred to as Earth-616 or presently as Prime Planet.
_ Midnight of Marvel_ seems to go in a very different direction compared to many other videogames that are associated with the Marvel brand. Not only will he give up the gameplay in real time in favor of a more strategic approach, but also will count a unique story that will focus a lot on the mystical aspects of the Marvel Universe. Now, the team behind the next 2022 launch has opened more about why I wanted to take the game for this route.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, the designer of Firaxis Games, Jake Solomon, spoke more about how the mystical elements of Midnight from Marvel_ came to be. In most of him, Solomon said it came from his own personal love for certain aspects of the Marvel world. Marvel has a huge trunk of toys, and I think we are looking for some of the bright and some dusty in the back, Solomon said about wanting to play with some of Marvel's lesser known aspects. Obviously I grew up reading Marvel Comics, but for me [...] the golden age was at the beginning of the 90s and I was very fond of antihéroes. And there were a lot of antihéroes to choose from at the beginning of the 90s. Then, my narrative director and I in this game, we both love Ghost Rider. And then the Spirits of Vengeance race at the beginning of the 90s, he culminated in this event called Rise of the Midnight Sons, which both he and I love .
While Ghost Rider, in particular, proved to be an important point of inspiration for Solomon and the Fireaxis team, it was mainly the love of him for this forgotten story a long time ago what he really helped sols of midnight. Become what she is currently. And so, very, very fast, we hit _sols of midnight. We were passionate about those characters and felt like, 'Hey, this is a story that has not been counted in a time.' But it is a story, the people who love the original rise of the Midnight Sons, stays with the people, Solomon explained.
He continued saying that the emotion he has seen in fans who recognize the comic bow on which the game is based is something that has been pleasantly pleased after the announcement of the title. It's very good and fun because Marvel has all these stories. And for me, rise of the Midnight Sons, it's a story as great as any other, he said. And it's very funny to say: 'Well, we can introduce you your next favorite story from Marvel, which is for midnight_. '
