Phil Spencer says Game Pass is a sustainable business model for Microsoft
The boss of the Xbox says, the service is not just a money pit.
One of the biggest things Microsoft has done in this console generation is the introduction of the Game Pass service. For only $ 9.99 per month (although a lot of $ 1 has paid 1 US dollar for promotional gifts and similar actions), you can access a comprehensive catalog of games, including all the first-party titles of Microsoft, all of the Service day and published on the service date. The service will continue to be continued in the next generation of consoles that come to us, and in all other devices that Microsoft will manufacture in the future. But how sustainable is the service at such a small price? Well, Phil Spencer by XBOX seems to be very sustainable.
In conversation with Stevivor, Spencer went on concerns that some Microsoft customers intend to increase as many subscriptions as possible and then increase the price. He rejected this concern with the justification that Game Pass was sustainable and currently no dramatic price increases were planned.
I know some people - I've seen it - some people say, Oh, they only burn money to win customers so they bring them to increase the price later, he said. There is no such model for us. We feel good in the shop we are currently leading. We definitely invest, but not in a way that is not sustainable. We make promotions and so on - every service will do it, but it's a business and it's a business that runs well.
It is a calming thought, but it is obvious that the price of the service has to rise at some point, and you can not help yourself to be surprised, considering that Microsoft is still not sure how many subscribers The service has service. So it's hard to assess how true this will be. At the moment the price is quite high. So, I think, enjoy it?
